The undergraduate program in Psychological and Brain Sciences provides students with an overview of the major sub-disciplines of psychology and prepares them for advanced studies in psychology and related fields.
At Johns Hopkins, the study of psychology extends to other departments, including Biology, Biophysics, Cognitive Science, Computer Science, Philosophy and Sociology, as well as to some departments in the School of Medicine. Psychology majors are required to complete a year-long sequence in statistics and laboratory methods to ensure their quantitative and methodological proficiency. An Honors program is also available for outstanding students who wish to pursue advanced training.
Students are urged to take advantage of the many research opportunities within the Department or through the Medical School. University laboratories are exceptional facilities with extensive special-purpose research equipment, and faculty members offer an unusual level of guidance and mentoring.
For more than 100 years, Psychological and Brain Sciences has attracted the curious and the creative to the study of the complex. What would you like to understand? |
