Attention all Psychology Majors/Minors Curriculum Changes On October 25, 2005, many of you were present at the pizza party where the Dept. of Psych and Brain Sciences introduced a new set of requirements for majors. This message is to follow-up with some additional sources of information. First, in the words of Douglas Adams, Don't Panic. The overall goals of the major are the same. A combination of intro- and upper-level courses will provide both breadth and depth in the study of psychology. Many of the same courses are still available (actually more courses should now be available to you under either the old or new curriculum requirements), but we have designed the requirements to be easier to fulfill and more effective in preparing students for the future. To view the checklists, use the following links: Sophmores, Juniors, and Seniors: You are not required to change to the new curriculum. If you are concerned about how some of the new courses fit into the old curriculum, discuss it with your advisor and see: COURSE ASSIGNMENTS FOR OLD CURRICULUM
If you are interested in changing to the new curriculum, you should discuss this option with your advisor. You may also view the guide for how past, present, and future course fit into the new curriculum: COURSE ASSIGNMENTS FOR NEW CURRICULUM For questions: Contact your advisor and/or Send email to Drs. Shelton & Drigotas send email
Freshman You are required to use the new curriculum Some of you have already taken courses for the major. These courses will still count. You should discuss the courses you have taken and those you plan to take with your advisor. You may also view the guide for how past, present, and future course fit into the new curriculum: COURSE ASSIGNMENTS FOR NEW CURRICULUM (FRESHMEN) For questions: Contact your advisor and/or Send email to Drs.
