My project at my internship involves analyzing magnetic resonance
imaging (mri) scans of subjects with Fetal Alcohol Symdrome or some
sort of prenatal alcohol exposure.
I've had a great experience at my internship as my PI's have been
very relaxed, supportive, and enthusiastic. I have flexible hours
so that I can work around my course schedule. Also, the research
has exposed me to an area, neuroimaging, of which I may eventually
pursue as a career.

Kennedy Krieger Institute and Baltimore Child Abuse Center
I was involved in a family study of OCD. My duties included data
entry from variouse self-report instruemnts (BASC, NEO, SCL-90,
etc), contacting participants, using STATA to analyze date, and
general organizational duties.
Dr. Grados was great to work with, he was very helpful and sparked
my interst in a varitey of topics concerning OCD. However, the state
at which the study was, did not provide me with teh type of experience
I was looking for. I wanted more hands-on experience and was bored
by the data entry.
I also, work at the Baltimore Child Abuse Center, I do this as
a work study job but know that it is made available to many students
as an internship. I am a student facilitator and as such I am responsible
for taking detailed notes during parent/child interviews with counselors,
social workers, and/or psychologysts regarding child sexual abuse
cases. I also am responsible for meeting and greeting various professionals
as they arrive (police officers, CPS, attorenys, ets) and keeping
files on each case.
I love my position at the BCAC. The staff is very suppotive and
nice, always teaching me new aspects of the process at the BCAC.
Furthermore, it provides me with clinical experience with children,
something that is generally difficult to find on campus.
